Lost Items

I am currently in the process of trying to find all my stuff ;).  As you know, if you've read my previous posts, I'm living with my MIL right now and, well, lets just say I'm having trouble finding all my craft items and my camera.

I've been messing with different ways of doing the video blog, and all I have now is my handy dandy laptop webcam for me time, but for my crafts I want my camera, which would look so much nicer not to mention easier to handle and position.  Ah well, for time being I thought I'd let my few followers know what is up, and I hope to soon have a blog that people actually enjoy going to and learning cool things with easy to follow tutorials, laughs, and the Lord above all.  Amen!!

First Video Blog

Trying something new because school is over and I'm being lazy, lol.

The voice is off a little I think, but I'm going to try different settings to get it to work in later recordings.  Hopefully I can start posting some of my designs in action, aka, while I make them.
God Bless Everyone!!

Back for More

I have been away too long.  I finished my math final today, and I have my microbiology final tomorrow.  Life has been a bit on the hectic side which has kind of forced me to put everything else on hold.  My husband got denied for disability so now we are going to appeal that, and hopefully be able to get that done within a year or less.  I'll talk about his condition some more some other time.

I have a lot of things to write about and say, but barely find the time.  Now, after tomorrow, I will be able to breathe, at least until January 10th when my Chem 151 class starts, and I put myself on an 8 week crash course.  The class normally takes 16 weeks, but I need to get chem 151 and 152 done before the semester ends so I can graduate with my friend.  Thanks, of course, to the well informed (what!) advisers at my school.  Well informed being a joke that is.

Anywho, I'm living with my MIL again.  If you don't know who that is, it is my Mother-in-Law.  Yep, that is because of the disability again, but you know what, it is okay.  God is still good and He knows better than I.

In fact, I was telling my friend how the night after we found out about my husband being denied disability (a lot doing with his young age) I was taking a bath and crying and singing all at the same time, "You know better than I, You know the way."  You know, from that Joseph, King of Dreams movie.  Yes, tears were streaming from my face, and I was proclaiming that You (God) knows better than I, because, lets face it people, sometimes we don't know what the heck he is thinking, but it's okay because he always knows better than I.

In tribute to my moment of tearful sanity and bath bombs:

A Song in the Desert: Desert Song by Hillsong United Chords

I know we all go through seasons in the desert.  I'm not talking about those who literally live in the desert, cause I do, ;).  I'm talking about the seasons in our lives.  Right now my family and I are going through a very big desert right now, and I know I've said it before but I will say it again.  No matter how dry the desert or dire the circumstances, we must forever and always give praise to the Lord.  No matter the situation, no matter the pain, no matter the battle, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He is always faithful, He is the ultimate authority, and He has given it to us!!

I can tell you without giving away the desert that I am in, that this song is an anthem to me today.  I play it often singing to my Father and reminding myself exactly what I need to do in this season, and exactly who He is and who He is in me.  :)

Be blessed always...

Heaven or Hell

I love Heaven or Hell jokes.  The St. Peter at the gates ones.  Although none of them are Biblically sound, I prefer to look at them in the way they were intended, as a JOKE.  So, in honor of those jokes, I'm gonna share one I recently got in the email, enjoy:

HEAVEN AND HELL

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator..

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven.."

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell..

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil smiles at him and says,

"Yesterday we were campaigning ...

 Today, you voted.."

Missed me?

Missed Me?  Don't worry, I've been missing myself.

I know it isn't just me, but doesn't it seem that when the school year starts, life is put on hold?  I feel that way sometimes, or most of the time, that school is going on.  I even put my shop on "vacation hold" while I get caught up on work.  This semester seems even more tiring then last.  Perhaps it is because my chemistry teacher has been sick most of the semester, and I've spent a good amount of it teaching myself and others.

I must admit that I don't mind that entirely except for the fact that I paid her and I'm not getting paid.  I guess you can see my predicament.  That being said, some of my "students" have been gracious in other ways. :).

I have another predicament now though.  I am finding I LOVE  chemistry, and guess what?? It is way easy for me.  I love math, I love chemistry!

I saw some chemistry pendants that I love and am so making some.  I'm gonna sell some too, or not, who knows.

Anywho, now you know I'm still here, and I will be back!  Haha!

Men'sTungsten Carbide Ring for Sale

Okay, so I got a ring for hubby and he gave me the wrong size!  What is up with that?  Anywho, instead of waiting forever for a replacement ring after sending this one back in I thought I'd give a go of selling it instead and just getting him a new one.  So, here it is.  I have a Men's 8mm size 10 Tungsten Carbide ring.  It has three crosses engraved on the outside and the scripture from Song of Solomon, "Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm," on the inside.  I am asking $40 for it.  If you know of anyone interested then just drop me a line or comment ;).  Also, no shipping charge if I have to ship it.  Here's a pic without the engraving shown but it gives you an idea.

Newsboys: Born Again Chords

If you don't know yet, my school year has started so I don't get a chance to make as much jewelry, crafts, or post on my blog as much, but I am sure gonna try to keep up to some degree.  Here is a great song that is out.  I have always loved Tait from DC Talk.  He has a great voice, and even though I will forever be sad that there is no more DC Talk or my fave members from Newsboys, at least the great voice of Tait has been put to great use in the new Newsboys.

Anywho, I haven't double checked these chords for their accuracy as I normally do cause I just cannot sing this song.  Well, let me correct that, I can sing the song, but it sounds way not good, imagine Ariel trying to sing this, not as pretty as Part of Your World.  Okay, here it is:

I love the original video but it has embedding disabled, Here is the Link.

These are the chords, if they don't work for you then you can change keys, etch:

Just for Giggles!

Driving with my two young boys to a funeral, I tried to prepare them by talking about burial and what we believe happens after death. The boys behaved well during the service. But at the gravesite, I discovered my explanations weren't as thorough as I'd thought. In a loud voice, my four-year-old asked, "Mom?"
"Yes," I whispered.
"What's in the box?"
--Ginny Richards

A family was celebrating their daughter's fifth birthday at a local restaurant when the little girl's father noticed her looking sadly at a moose head on the wall.
Someone had placed a party hat on its head. Her father knelt beside her and explained why some people hunt animals.
"I know all that," the child sobbed. "But why did they have to shoot him at his birthday party?"
--Jerry Bundick

Although desperate for work, I passed on a job that I'd found on an employment website. It was for a wastewater plant operator. Among the job requirements: "Must be able to swim."
--Michael Leamons

A pastor I know has a standard liturgy for funerals. To personalize each service, he uses the Find and Replace command on his computer to replace the name of the deceased from the previous funeral with the name of the deceased for the upcoming one. Recently, he had to replace the name Mary with Edna.
The next morning, the funeral was going smoothly until the congregation intoned the Apostles' Creed. "Jesus Christ," they read from the preprinted program, "born of the Virgin Edna."

My Latest Space Paintings, August

After selling three of my paintings at the garage sale (not for a high price either) I went out back and whipped these three up in less than 30 min.  Enjoy!

Just for Giggles!

Hospital regulations require a wheelchair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found an elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet-who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down, I asked if his wife was meeting him.
"I don't know," he said. "She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown."
--Patsy R. Dancey

I was already a nervous wreck about my upcoming surgery. It didn't help matters when the admitting nurse asked me, "Have you had a hysterectomy before?"
--Terry Wisener

"What is that sound?" a woman visiting our nature center asked.
"It's the frogs trilling for a mate," Patti, the naturalist, explained. "We have a pair in the science room. But they've been together for so long, they no longer sing to each other."
The woman nodded sympathetically. "The trill is gone."
--KathyJo Townson

Four teenagers were arrested in the parking lot of a large mall in Lakeland, Fla., just before Christmas when, attempting to steal an automobile at random, they tried to break into a police van containing three officers on a stakeout.

We rushed our four-year-old son, Ben, to the emergency room with a terrible cough, high fever, and vomiting. The doctor did an exam, then asked Ben what bothered him the most. After thinking it over, Ben said hoarsely, "I would have to say my little sister."

To Funny to Pass Up: Credit Cards

Is this story true??

In March 1992 a man living in Newton near Boston Massachusetts received a bill for his as yet unused credit card stating that he owed $0.00.  He ignored it and threw it away.

In April he received another and threw that one away too.  The following month the credit card company sent him a very nasty note stating they were going to cancel his card if he didn't send them $0.00 by return of post.  He called them, talked to them, they said it was a computer error and told him they'd take care of it.

The following month our hero decided that it was about time that he tried out the troublesome credit card figuring that if there were purchases on his account it would put an end to his ridiculous predicament.  However, in the first store that he produced his credit card in payment for his purchases he found that his card had been cancelled.

He called the credit card company who apologized for the computer error once again and said that they would take care of it.  The next day he got a bill for $0.00 stating that payment was now overdue.

Assuming that having spoken to the credit card company only the previous day the latest bill was yet another mistake he ignored it, trusting that the company would be as good as their word and sort the problem out.

The next month he got a bill for $0.00 stating that he had 10 days to pay his account or the company would have to take steps to recover the debt.

Finally giving in he thought he would play the company at their own game and mailed them a cheque for $0.00.  The computer duly processed his account and returned a statement to the effect that he now owed the credit card company nothing at all.

A week later, the man's bank called him asking him what he was doing writing a cheque for $0.00.  After a lengthy explanation the bank replied that the $0.00 cheque had caused their cheque processing software to fail.   The bank could not now process ANY cheques from ANY of their customers that day because the cheque for $0.00 was causing the computer to crash.

The following month the man received a letter from the credit card company claiming that his cheque had bounced and that he now owed them $0.00 and unless he sent a cheque by return of post they would be taking steps to recover the debt.  The man, who had been considering buying his wife a computer for her birthday, bought her a typewriter instead.

Curiosity Killed the Cat

I am a very curious person.  If someone tells me something or asks me something I am not satisfied with an "I don't know."  I have to find out.  There is a curiosity in me that does not let me rest.  I am a bowl full of useless information that may someday benefit me if I ever make it on Jeopardy or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Anywho, just for fun I was thinking of the saying, "Curiosity Killed the Cat."  Well, if curiosity killed the cat then the cat was curious at least 9 times cause cats have nine lives? Right? Right?  Perhaps it's just me, hmmm.

Two Things That DO NOT Go Together

My latest discovery, oh how I love to discover, is two things that definitely do not go together.  However wonderful on their own or paired with something else, they are not for each other.

Taco's, specifically Del Taco or Taco Bell tacos and....
Sonic Slushies.  It was like toxic waste when combined.  Not together mind you as in make a slushy of sonic slushy and tacos (ewwww) but take a bite of taco, take a sip of slushy, and wah-lah, yuck!

Painting Clothing

I recently purchased some Golden 900 Acrylic Heatset which allows you to turn any acrylic paint into fabric paint.  The reason I wanted this is cause I want to do clothing and bags in my Etsy shop, but I wanted something really unique.  What is more unique than bags and clothing with hand painted, one of a kind designs, eh.

Well, I am not going to start going at it with just any shirt, so I did my first test run today on a $3 shirt I got at Wal-Mart that has been worn and stained.  So, to cover the little, totally unnoticeable stains to anyone but me, I did a little practicing.  Tell me what you think about my results!  The butterfly was originally on there.  God Bless You!

Some Clay Shaping

In the last few days since school started I have discovered two wonderful things.  1) I LOVE Premo polymer clay.  It has been said many times that different clays work well for different people, and I am a Premo girl, and 2nd) I love my new little clay shaper tool thingie ;).
Anywho, to show you what I mean, here is a little of what I've been up too.
This one originally had a butterfly where the large flower is, but ending up not liking how the colors came out after being baked.  The colors were mixed with some premo translucent and the yellow ended up more translucent than the others which through the butterfly off.  Later today you will find this in my Etsy Shop.

I wore this one to school and got a number of compliments, which I can honestly say doesn't happen too often.  You really have to have a piece that stands out to receive compliments because sometimes people are afraid to say something unless it really catches their eye.  I haven't worn my other pieces yet though, so that could be why, haha!  I will be making similar ones like this with different flowers, butterflies, etch, and then listing them on Etsy with the option of having the name stamped, like pictured, for free.
This is my ode to the love of black.  This one has not been glossed yet, and I am thinking of covering it with a layer of resin to further protect the flowers and create a bit of dimension.  Then again, I may not.  What do you think?  Should it be given a protective resin cover or allowed to remain in it's 3D state?

Back to School!

So, just yesterday I started back to school.  Today, I am sitting in the school library waiting for my next class to start, and of course, writing on my blog.  I must admit, I totally forgot that there were three hours between my classes on Tuesday, and I am bored out of my mind!  What to do?  What to do?

Well, I decided to tell you a little about my boredom and try to figure out solutions.  Next week I plan on bringing my book for my Children's Literature class since it took me less than an hour to read the upcoming chapter for Chemistry, but I am sure as time goes on I will find less empty time that needs to be filled.

With all the great things going on I do have to tell you that I have some great plans in mind for my little blog here living in an inconspicuous part of the Internet.  I recently made my very own dress form in the form of my very own body.  Instructions came from a Threadbanger video on Youtube, as in right here:

I plan on taking my own form to come up with some cool tutorials on how to make some cool things.  My big plan is to have tutorials on_________ clothes.  Oh wait.  Can't tell you that one yet.  I will soon though, but let's just say I have been scouring the Internet in the hopes of finding people who figured this stuff out long before I did because, well, I must be honest, I'm lazy!   But, it seems my laziness must take a hike as I delve into a new adventure. Anywho, stay tuned for more awesomeness to come!!!

My Latest Flower in a Spoon

I finally got my clay machine from Joann's, and I was so totally excited last night that I got to working with it and used it to make my first skinner blend, and then used that to make this way cool orange flower that I put in a spoon pendant I had engraved earlier.  The engraving couldn't be seen very well from any distance, so I thought the engravings would go better as an accent verses the main event.  I haven't glossed the flower yet, but once I do I will be listing it in my Etsy Store.

Here we go:
Yes, those are some Fire-Opal Swarovski Crystals in there.

A Mess Up Fix

In my adventure of Stamping pendants I did do a number of mess-ups, but what to do with those irreparable oopsies?  Well, what I did was cover one messed-up washer with polymer clay and then get out acrylic paint and touched it off with a little glitter and glaze.

And Wah-lah...

Doing it Myself

We all love DIY, at least I do.  I am addicted to youtube videos that show me how to do it all myself.  Well, in the spirit of do it yourselfism,  I used the Kiss Lightning Speed Salon Dip Gel Kit.  Couldn't find it on Amazon, but oh well.  After finishing my gel nails (way easy kit to use) I needed a little decoration to 1) I just love decorated nails and 2) hide my mess ups (come on, it was my first time;)).

Using a few tooth picks and some acrylic paint you can get a looksie at the results, and yes, the left hand looks just as good as the right (or bad, depending on your preference).

Beautiful by Phil Wickam Chords

This song is, in a word, beautiful.  The music is wonderful, the message powerful.  How often do we forget to just tell our heavenly Father that, hey, You're Beautiful.  My heart is for worship, if you don't know that already.  The thing I love the most about worship is it's complete and utter intimacy.  You are asking nothing of God but to be with you.  You are saying, "Father, I love you and I just want to be with you because you are so amazing and incredibly beautiful."  The benefit of this is that in God's presence everything that is not of Him must go.  Sickness, disease, poverty, etch.  It is an added benefit that comes when a heart with pure motives desires to be with their Father.  There is no downside to this, but many times life gets in the way and we don't spend enough time in that intimate worship atmosphere to let God's glory fall in such power as to drive those things away.

If I would leave anything on this earth about worship it would be this, "Don't stop when you feel the Spirit, keep going.  Don't stop when you are on your knees because the presence is so intense, no, keep going.  Don't stop when it hurts so good because all the selfish, fleshy parts of you are dying in His presence, no, keep going.  Keep going until there is such a piece about you that you can wrap your hand around it and grip it because that is when the best stuff starts happening."

C F
I see Your face in every sunrise
       Am G
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
C F
The world awakens in the light of the day
   Am G C
I look up to the sky and say You're beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It's all proclaiming who you are You're beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home You're beautiful

When we arrive at eternity's shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We'll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we'll sing You're beautiful

Metal Stamping: Making it A Little Different

I don't always care for just stamped metal pieces.  It can be great (love the name stamped ones), but now and then it needs to be stirred up a little, so to set myself apart just a tiny bit I got a little dremel happy. ;).
On this one I used the dremel to add a little sky and my lovely cross.  I used permanent marker to do the highlighting and coloring.

The dremel effect on this one is just a subtle.  I used the dremel to create a kind of sunburst coming from the center of the washer.  I love the way the metal that has been sanded or brushed using the dremel looks in the light.

Getting Into Stamping: Metal Stamping that is

Finally got my first metal stamping set in the mail.  I was able to get a low cost box from Harbor Freight.  I don't have a local one, so I had to pay shipping.  Bummer, but oh well.  Anywho.  I want to sell some stamped items, but I'm going to start off small.  I figured I'd start an introductory price of around $10 for the stamped necklaces, depending on what I do to them, and then save for some cooler stamp sets including lowercase letters ;).  Here are a couple of pics of my first creation (not going to show you my practice pieces a.k.a so totally messed up ones).

A Little Engraving

I thought I'd practice engraving with my dremel.  It was a little hard at first and I'm still getting the hang of it.  More than anything I'm having trouble taking pictures of the spoon.  Goodness that is hard, ugh!

Fork Pendants

I'm waiting patiently for my hubby to wake up and be my male model ;) for my new fork pendants.  I love making these, they are so much fun!  These will be in my Etsy Store too.  They will be unisex pretty much.  I loved wearing one, and my hubby looks awesome with one too, so they are for either or ;).  Also, soon I'll be coming out with more words of wisdom from the Lord ;).  The Lord has been bringing me into a time of more intimate conversations, not the kind you share, so I've been focused on that.  Anywho, for your eye-pleasing enjoyment, Fork Pendants:
And Wah-Lah!  Hope your eyes are pleased :).

My Latest Space Paintings!! and more...

I'm so grateful to those who comment and take time to support me, so first off, THANK YOU!

Next, my newest paintings!
Obviously not of space, but way cool non-the-less eh.  Thanks Spraycasso for the idea ;).
A friend asked me to do a nebula and I got crazy.  Like my planet with the little people?  Here's a closer look:
and for an added bonus.  Here is my latest spoon pendant:
Those are suppose to be donuts, but strike me more of like a cereal.  Anywho, you can imagine them to be whatever makes you hungry ;).

My Spoon Pendant Adventure

Ah, what can I say?  I like adventures.  This is a new one for me, and one I've been thoroughly enjoying.  These are real spoons that I've taken the bowl part and made a lovely polymer clay creation inside them.  I am bursting with new ideas, as always.  These will be on sale in my Etsy Shop once I get the chains in. and perfect the pictures.  They are a lot harder to take cause of the reflection in any light.

In the first pic, I haven't got the bail on yet, but will shortly ;).  I used a dremel for the details, as well as a few poundings with the hammer.
