Book Review: The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker

When I read the first book of The Circle Trilogy; Black, I was thinking that it was a good read, but I don't get it.  It wasn't until I red the second book, Red, that things began to click, and after I finished reading the third book, White, I was like, "Man, that was AWESOME!"  I like that word, AWESOME, if you haven't noticed.  Anywho, the first story is really great, but without the second books in the series it is just another book.  Combined, they make a powerful and poignant story allowing us to see God's amazing love, His original intent for our creation, our fall from grace, and His amazing and unrelenting work in redeeming us.  It allows us to see sin as something visible on the outside, and shows us that just because we are saved, does not mean we are perfect.

When I read I become emotionally connected to the characters involved, as do many people, and that is why it is very important to be choosy about what we choose to read.  I'll do another post at another time about some of the reading choices we make, but it is very important, cannot stress this enough, as a believer in Christ to stay away from the things that can hurt us.  God doesn't say, "stay away from that," because He wants to control you, He says, "stay away from that," because He knows it will hurt you and He does not like to see His beloved in pain.

I want you to know that so you know that when I say a book is okay to read, it is because everything about the book brings you closer to God not further away.  That being said, I highly recommend The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker.

Also, I will never review a product I have not read, or tried for a significant period.  God Bless
Anna
