Painting Clothing

I recently purchased some Golden 900 Acrylic Heatset which allows you to turn any acrylic paint into fabric paint.  The reason I wanted this is cause I want to do clothing and bags in my Etsy shop, but I wanted something really unique.  What is more unique than bags and clothing with hand painted, one of a kind designs, eh.

Well, I am not going to start going at it with just any shirt, so I did my first test run today on a $3 shirt I got at Wal-Mart that has been worn and stained.  So, to cover the little, totally unnoticeable stains to anyone but me, I did a little practicing.  Tell me what you think about my results!  The butterfly was originally on there.  God Bless You!

Some Clay Shaping

In the last few days since school started I have discovered two wonderful things.  1) I LOVE Premo polymer clay.  It has been said many times that different clays work well for different people, and I am a Premo girl, and 2nd) I love my new little clay shaper tool thingie ;).
Anywho, to show you what I mean, here is a little of what I've been up too.
This one originally had a butterfly where the large flower is, but ending up not liking how the colors came out after being baked.  The colors were mixed with some premo translucent and the yellow ended up more translucent than the others which through the butterfly off.  Later today you will find this in my Etsy Shop.

I wore this one to school and got a number of compliments, which I can honestly say doesn't happen too often.  You really have to have a piece that stands out to receive compliments because sometimes people are afraid to say something unless it really catches their eye.  I haven't worn my other pieces yet though, so that could be why, haha!  I will be making similar ones like this with different flowers, butterflies, etch, and then listing them on Etsy with the option of having the name stamped, like pictured, for free.
This is my ode to the love of black.  This one has not been glossed yet, and I am thinking of covering it with a layer of resin to further protect the flowers and create a bit of dimension.  Then again, I may not.  What do you think?  Should it be given a protective resin cover or allowed to remain in it's 3D state?

Back to School!

So, just yesterday I started back to school.  Today, I am sitting in the school library waiting for my next class to start, and of course, writing on my blog.  I must admit, I totally forgot that there were three hours between my classes on Tuesday, and I am bored out of my mind!  What to do?  What to do?

Well, I decided to tell you a little about my boredom and try to figure out solutions.  Next week I plan on bringing my book for my Children's Literature class since it took me less than an hour to read the upcoming chapter for Chemistry, but I am sure as time goes on I will find less empty time that needs to be filled.

With all the great things going on I do have to tell you that I have some great plans in mind for my little blog here living in an inconspicuous part of the Internet.  I recently made my very own dress form in the form of my very own body.  Instructions came from a Threadbanger video on Youtube, as in right here:

I plan on taking my own form to come up with some cool tutorials on how to make some cool things.  My big plan is to have tutorials on_________ clothes.  Oh wait.  Can't tell you that one yet.  I will soon though, but let's just say I have been scouring the Internet in the hopes of finding people who figured this stuff out long before I did because, well, I must be honest, I'm lazy!   But, it seems my laziness must take a hike as I delve into a new adventure. Anywho, stay tuned for more awesomeness to come!!!

My Latest Flower in a Spoon

I finally got my clay machine from Joann's, and I was so totally excited last night that I got to working with it and used it to make my first skinner blend, and then used that to make this way cool orange flower that I put in a spoon pendant I had engraved earlier.  The engraving couldn't be seen very well from any distance, so I thought the engravings would go better as an accent verses the main event.  I haven't glossed the flower yet, but once I do I will be listing it in my Etsy Store.

Here we go:
Yes, those are some Fire-Opal Swarovski Crystals in there.

A Mess Up Fix

In my adventure of Stamping pendants I did do a number of mess-ups, but what to do with those irreparable oopsies?  Well, what I did was cover one messed-up washer with polymer clay and then get out acrylic paint and touched it off with a little glitter and glaze.

And Wah-lah...

Doing it Myself

We all love DIY, at least I do.  I am addicted to youtube videos that show me how to do it all myself.  Well, in the spirit of do it yourselfism,  I used the Kiss Lightning Speed Salon Dip Gel Kit.  Couldn't find it on Amazon, but oh well.  After finishing my gel nails (way easy kit to use) I needed a little decoration to 1) I just love decorated nails and 2) hide my mess ups (come on, it was my first time;)).

Using a few tooth picks and some acrylic paint you can get a looksie at the results, and yes, the left hand looks just as good as the right (or bad, depending on your preference).

Beautiful by Phil Wickam Chords

This song is, in a word, beautiful.  The music is wonderful, the message powerful.  How often do we forget to just tell our heavenly Father that, hey, You're Beautiful.  My heart is for worship, if you don't know that already.  The thing I love the most about worship is it's complete and utter intimacy.  You are asking nothing of God but to be with you.  You are saying, "Father, I love you and I just want to be with you because you are so amazing and incredibly beautiful."  The benefit of this is that in God's presence everything that is not of Him must go.  Sickness, disease, poverty, etch.  It is an added benefit that comes when a heart with pure motives desires to be with their Father.  There is no downside to this, but many times life gets in the way and we don't spend enough time in that intimate worship atmosphere to let God's glory fall in such power as to drive those things away.

If I would leave anything on this earth about worship it would be this, "Don't stop when you feel the Spirit, keep going.  Don't stop when you are on your knees because the presence is so intense, no, keep going.  Don't stop when it hurts so good because all the selfish, fleshy parts of you are dying in His presence, no, keep going.  Keep going until there is such a piece about you that you can wrap your hand around it and grip it because that is when the best stuff starts happening."

C F
I see Your face in every sunrise
       Am G
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
C F
The world awakens in the light of the day
   Am G C
I look up to the sky and say You're beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It's all proclaiming who you are You're beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home You're beautiful

When we arrive at eternity's shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We'll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we'll sing You're beautiful

Metal Stamping: Making it A Little Different

I don't always care for just stamped metal pieces.  It can be great (love the name stamped ones), but now and then it needs to be stirred up a little, so to set myself apart just a tiny bit I got a little dremel happy. ;).
On this one I used the dremel to add a little sky and my lovely cross.  I used permanent marker to do the highlighting and coloring.

The dremel effect on this one is just a subtle.  I used the dremel to create a kind of sunburst coming from the center of the washer.  I love the way the metal that has been sanded or brushed using the dremel looks in the light.

Getting Into Stamping: Metal Stamping that is

Finally got my first metal stamping set in the mail.  I was able to get a low cost box from Harbor Freight.  I don't have a local one, so I had to pay shipping.  Bummer, but oh well.  Anywho.  I want to sell some stamped items, but I'm going to start off small.  I figured I'd start an introductory price of around $10 for the stamped necklaces, depending on what I do to them, and then save for some cooler stamp sets including lowercase letters ;).  Here are a couple of pics of my first creation (not going to show you my practice pieces a.k.a so totally messed up ones).

A Little Engraving

I thought I'd practice engraving with my dremel.  It was a little hard at first and I'm still getting the hang of it.  More than anything I'm having trouble taking pictures of the spoon.  Goodness that is hard, ugh!

Fork Pendants

I'm waiting patiently for my hubby to wake up and be my male model ;) for my new fork pendants.  I love making these, they are so much fun!  These will be in my Etsy Store too.  They will be unisex pretty much.  I loved wearing one, and my hubby looks awesome with one too, so they are for either or ;).  Also, soon I'll be coming out with more words of wisdom from the Lord ;).  The Lord has been bringing me into a time of more intimate conversations, not the kind you share, so I've been focused on that.  Anywho, for your eye-pleasing enjoyment, Fork Pendants:
And Wah-Lah!  Hope your eyes are pleased :).

My Latest Space Paintings!! and more...

I'm so grateful to those who comment and take time to support me, so first off, THANK YOU!

Next, my newest paintings!
Obviously not of space, but way cool non-the-less eh.  Thanks Spraycasso for the idea ;).
A friend asked me to do a nebula and I got crazy.  Like my planet with the little people?  Here's a closer look:
and for an added bonus.  Here is my latest spoon pendant:
Those are suppose to be donuts, but strike me more of like a cereal.  Anywho, you can imagine them to be whatever makes you hungry ;).

My Spoon Pendant Adventure

Ah, what can I say?  I like adventures.  This is a new one for me, and one I've been thoroughly enjoying.  These are real spoons that I've taken the bowl part and made a lovely polymer clay creation inside them.  I am bursting with new ideas, as always.  These will be on sale in my Etsy Shop once I get the chains in. and perfect the pictures.  They are a lot harder to take cause of the reflection in any light.

In the first pic, I haven't got the bail on yet, but will shortly ;).  I used a dremel for the details, as well as a few poundings with the hammer.

Shoe Painting

I finally made some shoes for my little angel/hurricane.  It took me about three hours or more to make, mostly cause I kept having to stop and save my house from the antics of the said hurricane, but I got them done! Yay!  I was contemplating actually selling shoes like these, but the price might be a little high cause of how long it took me to make them.  You can let me know.  What do you think of my little experiment?
I accidentally added too much clear coat on the back and had the black leak a little, so to speak.  It happened on one shoe so I decided to duplicate it on the other shoe.  Now it's a cool little trick that I "accidentally" did, haha.
So, would you buy these?  And what is the max you would pay?  And would adult custom shoes be cool?  I know other people make them too, but hey, I'm me, ;).
