For My Daughter

Who doesn't love their little girls?  I love mine, but I only have one (for now). ;).  One of my fave fabrics of all time due to the many butterflies, and awesome color combination, is Michael Miller's Brown Butterfly fabric.  I don't know the official name but you will see it here in a moment.  Anywho, I redid a beautiful little rocking chair that hubby got in a garage sale.  The lady said it is over 50 years old, but that is fine by me because back then they actually used good wood, haha!  It is actually in great condition.  Anywho, here is the result of all my hard work, and man it was not easy.

I had to nail the fabric on the bottom as well as the eyelet ruffles.  The top cushion was sewn onto the old cushion.  I broke two needles sewing it on because of how thick it was, but it was a lot nicer looking then sewing a pillow case and then putting it on.  This way gave it a better finish, although it was a big pain in the butt.
I had to do an extra band of fabric around the sides to cover where the posts came out.  That made it an even bigger pain in the butt.

No matter how I stretched it I couldn't get the back corners covered right, so I improvised by adding little bows to the back.

And wah-lah!  Finished product!  Oooh, Aaaah, and all that good stuff.
